CONNECT THE METALTECH SLIM PACK CONTROLLER

Note : the controller doesn't have and integrated 3.5mm jack portYou cannot connect a headset to the controller.

Please note: if the following method doesn't work, you may need to update your pad's firmware. A step-by-step method can be found at the bottom of this page.

CONNECTING THE CONTROLLER TO YOUR CONSOLE

Plug the USB dongle into the dedicated socket on your PS4TM console.

When the light bar stops flashing, synchronization is over.

Press the HOME button to access your console's user profile.

To use a secondary controller, you will need to create another user profile if you don't already have one. You cannot use two controllers simultaneously on a single user profile.

CONNECTING THE CONTROLLER TO YOUR PC

Plug the USB dongle into the dedicated socket on your PC.

Once you have heard a notification sound, simultaneously press the Option + PS buttons of your controller until you hear another notification sound.

PADDLES SETUP

The M1, M2, M3 and M4 paddles at the back of the pad can be given the same function as any action button. The M1 M2 M3 M4 paddles can map a maximum of 14 buttons.

The M1 paddle defaults to button 1

The M2 paddle defaults to button 3

The M3 paddle defaults to button 4

The M4 paddle defaults to button 2

 

There are 2 ways to setup the paddles: 

Mode A Remapping : 1 or more buttons can be set to 1 paddle

Mode B Macro : programmed macro chains can be set up on a single paddle.

MODE A : REMAPPING

Using M1 paddle as example

  1. Keep M1 paddle pressed then push Share, the Turbo LED stays lit, programming mode is on. Release M1

  2. Press the buttons you want to map, say L1 and R2

  3. Press M1 again to confirm setup, the Turbo LED turns off, programming ended successfully. Pushing M1 now will work as if pressing L1 and R2.

  4. Each paddle can replace one or several of the following buttons : buttons 1, 2, 3, 4, L1, R1, R2, L2, right stick, left stick, directional cross (up/down/left/right). In some games, buttons may already have several functions associated.

  5. Setup saving: the pad keeps the configuration saved.

  6. To setup the other paddles, do the same as for M1 above.

MODE B : MACRO

Using M1 paddle as example

  1. Keep M1 paddle pressed then push Share, the Turbo LED stays lit, programming mode is on. Release M1
  2. Press the buttons you want to map in macro mode, say L1 then R2
  3. Press M1 again to confirm setup, the Turbo LED turns off, programming ended successfully. Pushing M1 now will work as if pressing L1 then pressing R2.
  4. Each paddle can replace one or several of the following buttons : buttons 1, 2, 3, 4, L1, R1, R2, L2, right stick, left stick, directional cross (up/down/left/right). In some games, buttons may already have several functions associated.
  5. Setup saving: the pad keeps the configuration saved.
  6. To setup the other paddles, do the same as for M1 above.

How to disable the paddles

  1. First press one of the paddles and hold it down without releasing it then press Share. The LED then turbo remains lit and the programming mode is in progress.
  2. Press the same button again, it can't replace another button on your controller.
  3. Repeat the same operation for the 3 other paddles.

TURBO BUTTON

The turbo button has two main features.

  • The first one concerns the paddle setup : when the button is lightened, it indicates that the paddle programming mode is on.

  • The second one concerns the gameplay : when you use the turbo button and hold down another button of your controller, the action of this button will be repeated continuously.

FIRMWARE

Required for the update process:

  • A PC running Windows 7, 8 or 10
  • The pad and its USB dongle
  • An unfolded paperclip, a SIM card extractor or any other thin, rigid pin

Firmware installer file:

How-to:

  1. Download and unpack the firmware's package.
  2. Run the extracted file. 
    • Your antivirus may want to scan the file before you run it. Do so.
    • If Windows asks you if the software can modify your computer's settings, accept.
      You will get this screen: 
       
  3. On the dongle, before you plug it in: 
    • Find the small Reset button home.
    • Insert the pin in it: you should feel a small 'click'.
  4. While keeping the pin depressed, plug the dongle to the PC. 
    • Windows will detect a new peripheral.
    • The updater's window will change after a few seconds:

      Click the "update" button.
  5. A progress bar starts filling up:

    Please wait until the software is done updating the dongle. Do not unplug the dongle before the end of the update process!
  6. Once the updater has done its job:

    you can close the software and unplug the dongle from the PC. Remove the pin from the hole and reconnect the pad to your PC or console, it should now be detected.
